My Pocket Prayer Book: Shalom 2000

by Fr. John O'Holohan, SJ

The first edition of 'My Pocket Prayerbook' was printed in 1971. Nine more edtions followed and now you have the eleventh edition, new, revised and enlarged, with a new title: Shalom 2000. It still comprises three features in one book - Prayers, Sacraments and Doctrine.

An appendix has been added with suggestions for Spiritual Reading as a help to mental prayer, especially contemplation.

The Holy Spirit is always helping us to pray, but this little book can help bring our distracted minds back to him.

Fr. John O'Holohan, SJ was ordained a priest in 1955. He spent the next 10 years teaching, mostly in Ireland. From 1965 until 1987 he served with the Irish Jesuit Mission in Africa. Fr.
